About Canyon Creek

Located off of both Highway 620 and 222, Canyon Creek is a more modern residential neighborhood that’s close to Lake Travis. There are more than 1,300 homes in the community, which began development during the 1980s. Because this neighborhood is within Texas Hill Country, it’s easy to find a home with beautiful hill views. Even though the community is close to two major highways, it feels isolated and like it’s part of the countryside. Of course, while you’re here, you’re just a short drive away from numerous shopping and dining options. Renting a dumpster is also easy.

There’s no shortage of amenities in the community. From the community pool to two parks, a playground, grills for BBQ, an outdoor pavilion, playing fields, and ball courts, there’s always something to do here. You can find a trail for hiking and cycling as well.

If you’re interested in activities like boating, fishing, camping, or would simply like to have a picnic, both Lake Austin and Lake Travis are just a few short miles away.

Community Features

The land that Canyon Creek was built on was once used for hunting and cattle ranching. Developers began converting it to a residential area near the end of the 1980s. Construction was finally finished in 2005. Now, although the area is fairly secluded, you can find wide streets and beautifully maintained laws on local streets. It’s also close to amenities like restaurants, shops, and outdoor activities.

Highway 620 and 2222 are just a short distance from the neighborhood. This means that it’s easy to access west Austin and other parts of the city. Thanks to these highways, it’s easy to commute and access all the amenities in downtown Austin. The tech employers in north Austin are also a short drive away.

There’s plenty of green space to be found in Canyon Creek, and the community is quite open. In fact, certain areas are sectioned off as protected wildlife areas. As mentioned above, there are two parks here: Trailhead Park and Homeowners Association Park. Balcones Canyonland Preserve is located alongside the community.

You can find two different community centers in the area, each with a play area for children, courts for volleyball and basketball, a spacious pool, a meeting pavilion, and soccer fields. If you’re a fan of golf, you’ll be pleased to know that both River Place Country Club and Woodland Greens Golf Center can be found a short distance away.

If you travel down Highway 620, you’ll find Four Points Center, which spans 333 acres. Here, you can find a grocery store, a number of shops, and even a mall. An additional mall, Lakeline Mall, is less than four miles away. You can find three more groceries stores within two miles of the community. At Canyon Creek’s south entrance, a brand-new cinema is being built. When construction is complete, you’ll find retail stores and eateries here as well.

The two school districts that community residents have access to, Leander and Round Rock, are rated highly. There’s an elementary school within the neighborhood, which was constructed during the 90s. Concordia University’s campus is a short distance away, and there are also excellent private schools in the vicinity.

The population in this community is in the upper-middle class income bracket and is quite diverse. Residents are primarily of Caucasian, East Asian, and Indian descent. Numerous residents work in the tech industry in north Austin or at employers in downtown Austin.
